Here are the candidates on ballots for Phenix City and Smiths Station elections

Phenix City and Smiths Station will conduct municipal elections this summer.

The offices of mayor and council will be on the ballots in these cities, as will seats on the Phenix City Board of Education.

Only six of the 18 seats up for election on these three governing bodies will have contested races. All of the seats up for election are nonpartisan. Here is the list of qualified candidates for the Aug. 26 election:

Phenix City Council

  • Mayor: Eddie Lowe (incumbent)
  • At-large: Raymond Smith and Jasponica Florence. The incumbent, Griff Gordy, isn’t seeking reelection.
  • District 1: Steve Bailey (incumbent)
  • District 2: Vickey Green (incumbent) and John “Barry” Oswalt
  • District 3: Arthur Day Jr. (incumbent) and Jamar Gayles.

Phenix City Board of Education

  • At-large: Patricia Hardman (subsequently withdrew) and Likitca Ligon. The incumbent, Florence Bellamy, isn’t seeking reelection.
  • District 1/Place 1: Steve Pace. The incumbent, Brady Baird, isn’t seeking reelection.
  • District 1/Place 2: Jonathan Taylor (incumbent)
  • District 2/Place 1: James “Elliott” Patrick (incumbent)
  • District 2/Place 2: KeAnthony Brooks (incumbent) and Richard Carter
  • District 3/Place 1: Katrina Collier-Long (incumbent)
  • District 3/Place 2: Yolaunda Daniel (incumbent).

Smiths Station City Council

  • Mayor: Richard Cooley (incumbent) and Lisa Deason
  • Place 1: George Stringer (incumbent)
  • Place 2: Adam Littleton. The incumbent, Morris Jackson, isn’t seeking reelection.
  • Place 3: Steve Lansdon (incumbent)
  • Place 4: Dwayne Peterson (incumbent) and Daniel Soto
  • Place 5: Victoria Green (incumbent).
