Gordy wins Phenix City Council at large seat
With unofficial numbers in the Phenix City municipal election, Griff Gordy won the at large council seat with 55 percent of the vote.
Gordy received 2,620 votes, or 55 percent, to Sabrina Sumbry’s 2,119, or 45 percent.
Gordy, 40, is an optometrist in private practice and a former Central High School quarterback. He is a Phenix City native who has never been elected to office.
