With all precincts counted but not official, Johnnie C. Robinson Jr. defeated Johnny Barfield Tuesday night in for the District 2 Phenix City Council seat.
Robinson received 555, or 55 percent, of the vote to Barfield’s 448, or 45 percent. Gail Head currently represents the district, but she did not seek re-election.
Robinson is senior pastor of Greater Power Outreach Church. He is a retired Army sergeant and has served on the Russell County Commission.
Barfield is currently the at large councilmember and was appointed earlier this year when Chris Blackshear resigned after being elected to the Alabama House.
