Experience: Helped start House of Heroes in 2000 to provide home repairs for elderly and disabled military and public safety veterans; organized and served as director of the Center for Servant Leadership; directed financial counseling and employee assistance programs and The Business Resource Center at the Bradley Center-Pastoral Institute; managed KFC restaurants for RJR-Nabisco in Metro Atlanta after running a KFC in Athens while at the University of Georgia; currently serves as pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church in Columbus’ Oakland Park area; was elected to Columbus Council’s citywide Post 9 seat in 2002

Wayne Baker; started the church’s private Christian education center; helped start Teen University in Phenix City; first invested in real estate at age 20; worked for the Muscogee County School District and in tutorial services and community collaborations
Name: Paul Olson
Age: 59
Occupation: A retired Army officer, Olson has sold real estate and helps run Terri’s Florist, the family business named for wife Teresa
Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, in management and military science, Troy State University, 1987; associate’s degree in liberal arts, Iowa Central Community College, 1975; graduated from Fort Dodge High School in Fort Dodge, Iowa, 1969
Experience: Besides selling real estate and helping run the family’s floral business, Olson has a combined 37 years of active-duty and Army Reserve service, having retired from the reserve as a major. He enlisted right out of high school, serving 1970-71 with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam, then left the service in 1972 before re-enlisting in 1978. He trained at Fort Benning and was sent to Germany, and after Officer Candidate School returned as a lieutenant and settled in Columbus. He left active duty in 1992 and joined the reserves. His military decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Parachutist Badge
Name: Teresa Tomlinson
Age: 45
Occupation: Attorney; part-owner, Tomlinson Properties and The Butler’s Pantry
Education: Law degree, Emory University, 1991; dual bachelor’s degrees in government and economics, Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, Va., 1987; graduated from Chamblee High School near Atlanta in 1983
Experience: Besides her involvement in Tomlinson Properties and The Butler’s Pantry, she joined the law firm Pope, McGlamry, Kilpatrick, Morrison and Norwood and moved to Columbus in 1994; she became the firm’s first female partner in 1998 and took a leave of absence in 2006 to help organize and serve as the first executive director of MidTown Inc., a nonprofit promoting neighborhood revitalization in a 9-square-mile area of central Columbus
