An Easter party went from “chaotic” to deadly when a car was used to intentionally pin a man against a house, according to detectives in Alabama.

It happened just before 10 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, and the man’s children were watching as he died, the Birmingham Police Department said in a news release.

Identities of the victim and driver have not been released, but investigators say the suspect was once in a relationship with the man.

“There was a large birthday and Easter celebration taking place at the residence,” police said.

“The victim and suspect share children in common. They were involved in a domestic related argument that escalated to the female retrieving a firearm and firing shots inside the residence. Both (the) victim and suspect exited the residence (and) witnesses reported that the female suspect got into her vehicle and intentionally ran over the male.”

When officers arrived, the man was found “trapped in between the suspect’s vehicle and the house,” police said.

Birmingham fire-rescue personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

The woman was taken into custody, but details of charges have not been released as of April 21.

“Detectives and officers learned that there may have been children both parties share in common that were present and observed this incident,” police said.

“The scene was chaotic ... and officers from other precincts came to the 700 block of Lisa Lane to help bring this situation under control.”
