Cashier at McDonald's drive-thru was taking orders - then had a gun shoved in her face

Police are looking for any information after a masked robber shoved a gun in a cashier's face and demanded she open the register after he crawled through a drive-thru window at a DeKalb County, Ga., McDonald's on Jan. 2.

In surveillance video of the robbery, a man sprints down the side of a DeKalb County, Ga., McDonald's restaurant, sliding quickly past the line of cars waiting for their food, thrusts his arm into the open drive-thru window, grabs the cashier's white jacket - and shoves a silver handgun in her face.

"Open the register," he says in a flat voice, crawling through the window on his hands and knees. The cashier screams and darts away.

"Open the register," the man says again.

He finishes clambering through the window and runs into the kitchen after the cashier. "Open the register," he says one more time, and then runs back into the drive-thru area.

Struggling to hold onto his pistol, he yanks the entire locked cash-drawer out from under the register and crawls back through the window before sprinting away across the now-empty parking lot.

It was around 11:30 p.m. on the Tuesday the robbery happened. The man had his face, hands and body covered, police say.

"We can hear his voice, so maybe if somebody recognizes his voice or his description, they can help us out," DeKalb County Police Lt. Lonzy Robertson told WSB-TV.

Anyone with information about the case can contact DeKalb County Police detectives at 404-286-7990.
