Georgia State Patrol fires at least 30 troopers for alleged cheating
At least 32 new Georgia State Patrol troopers were fired for allegedly cheating on an exam, according to Atlanta news outlets and the Associated Press. Some of them are from the Muscogee County area.
The Associated Press reported that 32 members of the 106th trooper school class were fired and one resigned. All 33 are August graduates.
The list of the entire class included two who were either from Muscogee County or assigned to posts in LaGrange.
Channel 2 Action News first learned of the internal investigation into students of the 106th trooper school last week, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported.
The new troopers allegedly cheated on an online test for speed detection, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
A call and email to the public information office for the state Department of Public Safety were not immediately returned.
