What began as a social media prank ended with trespass charges against a Middle Georgia man, deputies said.

The 28-year-old, from Elko, was arrested after deputies said he dashed onto the field wearing only plastic wrap during a Peach County football game Friday, Sept. 15.

The man was shirtless but was wearing pants, Sheriff Terry Deese told McClatchy News. The man told deputies the stunt was part of a YouTube prank.

Authorities determined the prankster had been paid to run across the field.

The man was booked on multiple charges including trespassing and disrupting a school function, according to the Peach County Sheriff’s Office.

Additional information wasn’t released.

Peach County is about 20 miles southwest of downtown Macon.
