A decades-old GA murder to be featured on ‘Dateline’ on NBC. Here’s when, how to watch
NBC’s “Dateline” is coming to Southwest Georgia, and the decade-long legal drama surrounding the death of Albany’s William “Jake” Embert, is the subject of this week’s episode.
Dateline: Malice airs Friday, Feb. 28 at 9 p.m. EST on NBC, with correspondent Blayne Alexander reporting, digs into the 2014 death of Embert, a U.S. Army veteran who had spent 20 years working at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, and the long legal road that followed.
The case unfolded in Dougherty County, and involves a lot of unanswered questions about what really happened inside a home on Albany’s North Hibiscus Road, a family that refused to accept the official story, and a legal process that stretched across multiple trials and all the way to the Georgia Supreme Court.
The verdict in the case came down just last month. So this isn’t a dusty cold case, long forgotten. It’s a story that Albany residents watched play out in real time, and its Dateline episode hits televisions when it’s still fairly fresh.
Dateline airs on NBC, or you can also stream it live or on-demand through Peacock with a subscription. You can also catch it the next day on the NBC app.
