About 200 Muscogee County residents without power due to Tropical Storm Sally
About 280 people are currently without power in the Columbus area after Tropical Storm Sally brought winds and heavy rain overnight.
Georgia Power is reporting 204 customers in Muscogee County are currently affected by multiple power outages, as of 4:50 p.m. Thursday.
In Harris County, 66 customers are currently affected by power outages and no customers are affected in Chattahoochee County.
Georgia Power estimates that power will be restored across the area by 8 p.m. Thursday in most cases.

Across Georgia, 9,283 customers are still affected by the overnight rain.
As workers make repairs throughout the state today, Georgia Power is reminding customers to be aware of social distancing guidelines amid the coronavirus pandemic. This includes:
- Keeping six feet between you and utility crews at all times
- No treats or special gifts for workers.
- Don’t touch trucks or equipment
As of 5 p.m. Thursday, Alabama was reporting around 125,000 outages statewide with most in the Mobile area.
