Storms or sunshine on Father’s Day? Check the weather in Georgia before you make plans
We’ve been celebrating Dad, officially, since 1914 when President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation designating the third Sunday of June Father’s Day.
Since then, it’s become a summer tradition to celebrate dad with fun and outdoor activities. Whether it’s grilling, fishing or golfing, dads just want to get outside.
However, Georgia summers can be notoriously fickle and you never know what you’re going to get, and Columbus is no exception.
According to The Weather Channel, it will be hot and sunny on Father’s Day with a fairly low chance of rain.
- High temperature: 96°F
- Low temperature: 75°F
- UV Index: 10 of 11
- Humidity: 51%
- Chance of precipitation: less than 20%
- Sunrise: 6:31 a.m.
- Sunset: 8:48
This summer is predicted to be hotter than usual. If temperatures reach the predicted high, this Father’s Day could wind up being the hottest on record. Make sure to pack extra sunscreen for dad and stay hydrated - it’s going to be a hot one this year.
