Thinking of getting out today in Columbus? Here’s how the roads are looking

One look at your yard and street will tell you Columbus is still pretty snowed in, but the roads are downright hazardous. The best advice for today is to stay home.

Columbus Police Department has been updating citizens on road conditions on their Facebook page, and the images tell a perilous story.

Still images of I-185 N, Veterans, JR Allen, and the Columbus’ downtown show icy and snowy driving conditions.

The early morning post sends thanks to the first responders, healthcare professionals, and other essential workers, and offers some direct advice to citizens, “stay off the roads.”

A more re recent travel advisory post reports “several fender benders and “rolling crashes” occurring across the city due to the icy conditions. The CPD warns drivers to stay vigilant as the conditions are unlikely to be mitigated by tomorrow.

All major news outlets and weather resources echo this advice and caution inexperienced drivers to stay off the roadways.
