Know your thunderstorm types
A strong line of thunderstorms pushing its way through the Gulf Coast is expected to hit parts of west Georgia late Thursday night.
Columbus could start seeing heavy rain, hail, damaging winds and possibly tornadoes as soon as 11 p.m., according to a forecast from the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
The storms are expected in Macon by 5 a.m. and will linger for most of the morning.
The weather is expected to clear up by 2 p.m. Friday afternoon, according to the forecast.
