Stokely Carmichael, national chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, waived a preliminary hearing today on charges that he incited Tuesday’s rioting in Atlanta.
Flournoy Rites
Graveside services for Mrs. Rose Flournoy, former Columbus teacher and radio personality, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Linwood Cemetery. A former teacher in the Muscogee County School District, Mrs. Flournoy later became noted for her WRBL radio program “Welcome Neighbor.”
Jones Backs Carter
Muscogee Rep. Milton Jones has endorsed Sen. Jimmy Carter, Plains, in the governor’s race.
