Arnall Favored

A Baptist minister fired Sunday by his congregation because of his open-door policy towards admitting Negroes, said today he could not have done otherwise. “I did it out of conviction and I’d do it again,” said the Rev. Dr. Thomas J. Holmes referring to his welcome last June of two Negro students from nearby Mercer University. The church is on the Mercer campus.
