Hard-bitten segregationist Lester Maddox in an amazing upset at the polls has won the right to contest for the Georgia governorship in the November general election against conservative Republican Howard H. (Bo) Callaway.

Jack Takes Rest

Jack Brinkley, with two races down and one to go, moved from his decisive victory over Erle Cocke Jr. in the Democratic primary runoff Wednesday into planning his campaign strategy against Republican Billy Mixon.

Lewis Death

Foul play has been ruled out in the death of Mrs. Daisy Lewis, wife of West Point high school principal and Coach Carlton Lewis. An autopsy was ordered after the Lewis car was found in the river on Interstate Highway 85 near Lanette, Ala.
