Downtown Fire

The interior of The Columbus Drug Co. today was completely gutted and one fireman was slightly injured as flames leaped through two 12th Street businesses in a fire that was first reported shortly before noon today.

Winter Blast

Autumn turned wintry today in the Columbus area as winds blew cold, temperatures dropped and snow flakes were sighted at Auburn, Ala. , as the first freeze moved into sight.

Delay Delayed

All set to adopt a bond call for Dec. 7 this morning, city commissioners stopped to consider a delay until next spring. Two Muscogee County commissioners appeared at a called meeting of the City Commission to propose that voting be delayed on the nearly $16 million issues.
