Absentee ballots from Richmond County which were not included in the final precinct returns have given Republican Howard Callaway a slightly larger margin over Democrat Lester Maddox in the governor’s race.

Jeff Moon, head of the Muscogee Parks and Recreation Departments, said that in May of 1924 Dan Odum, a real estate developer, turned the two acres over to the county for use as a park.
