The appeal by 85 of the world’s religious and scientific leaders to Pope Paul VI to change the Roman Catholic Church’s stand on birth control says “man’s responsibility to the next generation includes a primary duty to limit that generation’s size.”


Russell County Schools Supt. Warren N. Richards said today that he has been subpoenaed to appear in federal court Nov. 30 with school records relating to Negro schools and desegregation matters.

Plans for a new six-story wing at St. Francis Hospital, to include 72 beds in a first-stage project and another 108 beds in a later construction program, are now being considered by the hospital’s advisory board.
