The Supreme Court today ruled that the Georgia Legislature can decide the deadlocked governorship race between Democrat Lester C. Maddox and Republican Howard M. Callaway.

If Georgia legislators vote for governor on the basis of their home-county results in the Nov. 8 election, Lester Maddox will probably win by a close margin, a Ledger survey indicates.
