Antibugging Bill
Enactment of legislation to outlaw possession sale or use of electronic eaves-dropping devices in Georgia was recommended today by a House Invasion of Privacy Study Committee. The committee, which includes Rep. Milton Jones of Columbus, made its recommendations in a report prepared for submission to the 1967 Georgia General Assembly.
Stadium
Mayor Lee Lott today told Phenix City Commission 1966 has been “a tremendous year” of accomplishments for the city. Citing the building of the new football stadium as the greatest goal reached, Lott also said the city has built two elementary schools, has paved miles of city streets, has enjoyed expanded retail sales, has seen the completion of a new nursing home and has recently announced the plan for the construction of a new industry.
’Til Next Year
Some $20,300 worth of Christmas lights and decorations will begin disappearing soon from downtown Columbus to go into storage until next Thanksgiving season. Weather permitting, the stripping will begin about 8 a.m. Monday.
