The state Senate voted 34 to 3 today to outlaw use of electronic eavesdropping devices in Georgia by anyone other than law enforcement officers with court warrants.

R.S. Waddell Dies

Richard Spencer Waddell, 56, prominent Columbus businessman and a member of the Muscogee County Board of Education, died at 6:20 a.m. today at the Medical Center after a short illness.

Education

Officials of five independent Georgia Colleges meet in Columbus Tuesday and Wednesday as a part of a statewide drive to obtain financial backing from local business.
