Third District Congressman Jack Brinkley today denounced black power leader Stokely Carmichael on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. He called on U.S. Attorney Gen. Ramsey Clark to investigate Carmichael’s activities.

NBC Blasts ‘Lies’

New Orleans Dist. Atty. Jim Garrison’s investigation into the Kennedy assassination was described on nationwide television Monday night as a case founded on lies, threats, fear, suspicious inducements and exploitation of the public. The NBC program, “The JFK Conspiracy: The Case of Jim Garrison” presented the following conclusions:

“The case he (Garrison) has built is based on testimony that did not pass a lie detector test Garrison ordered -- and Garrison knew it.”

Bond Issue

Muscogee County commissioners today told a Negro minister that the hiring and firing of county employees is left up to elected officials and department heads- — but that no applicant for a county job is refused consideration because of race or color. Rev. W. R. Walters said his 4,000 members Organizing Committee of Muscogee County is “interested in going along with the June 28 bond referendum if certain matters can be cleared up.”
