Luci Johnson Nugent, President Johnson’s younger daughter, gave birth to an 8-pound, 10-ounce “perfectly normal and healthy” boy today. Mother and son were reported in excellent condition.

Clay Appeal

Lawyers for heavyweight champion Cassius Clay had an appeal motion ready today in the boxer’s conviction on criminal charges of refusing induction for military service. They predicted eventual victory and said that jail is 18 months away at worst.

Where’s Duke?

When’s the Duke coming? That’s the question before the Post Information Office at Fort Benning today. They, too, would like to know when John Wayne will return to Columbus to start filming “The Green Berets.”
