Bond Issues

Voters in Columbus and Muscogee County will go to the polls Wednesday to ballot once again on two bond issues totaling $5.2 million. One issue, for $4.8 million, would finance the county’s share of a proposed new courthouse. The other would provide $400,000 for constructing and furnishing a building to house the Muscogee Department of Family and Children Services.

Keaton Rites

Funeral for former Cuthbert Police Chief James M. Keaton, 90, will be today at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cuthbert.

Corps Lake Fees

Beginning Jan. 1, a fee will be charged for placing private floating facilities on any Corps of Engineers reservoir such as lakes on the Chattahoochee River. This includes boat docks, mooring facilities, duck blinds, ski-jump floats, swimming or diving platforms or rafts and similar structures.
