Sen. Richard Russell, D-Ga., sharply denounced the Johnson administration for sending planes and men into the Congo to help quell a local rebellion.
“I deplore intervention in local wars where we have no moral commitment to intervene,” said Russell, chairman of the Armed Services Committee.
