Dr. William Henry Shaw, Muscogee schools superintendent, was reported to be “resting comfortably” this afternoon at The Medical Center, where he is under observation for a heart condition. He became ill during the night at his home, received an emergency visit by a physician, and was admitted to the hospital shortly after 5 a.m.
Saved From River
Muscogee County Rescue Squad members pulled a fisherman from the Chattahoochee River after his boat overturned Thursday afternoon, and recovered his capsized boat.
Caution Light
A red light to signal a death on the highways within the past 24 hours has been installed on the radio tower of the Alabama State Troopers headquarters here. A green light will burn during the hours when no fatality has been recorded, according to Capt. C. S. Prier. Prier reported that 15 traffic deaths have occurred in Lee County this year, as compared to 10 for the same period during 1966.
