‘Bama Funds Cut

The U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals Tuesday overruled a lower federal court and upheld the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare in plans to cut $100 million in welfare aid to Alabama.

Stadium Seats

Phenix City Recreation Director Eugene Oswalt and City Attorney Roy Phillips have sent a letter to the company which manufactured the seats for the municipal stadium requesting that the seats be replaced.

Party for Maddox

Rep. Ward Edwards of Taylor County will hold a reception in honor of Gov. and Mrs. Lester Maddox next month at his home in Butler.
