For the Soldiers
An Alabama beauty recently back from performing with the Miss America Sisters tour in Vietnam is ready to return to the war-shattered country. Angie Grooms, Auburn University senior, said the girls “came back with tremendous respect for our fighting men in Vietnam. I’d give anything in the world to go back,” she said. “It’s a shame everyone can’t go there and see what our men are accomplishing. The men are helping the people, especially the orphans.”
Air Traffic
Noting the “critical situation which now exists at Muscogee County Airport,” a Federal Aviation Agency official has recommended that the county request use of Fort Benning’s Lawson Field.
‘Woman of Year’
The Columbus Business and Professional Women’s Club needs the help of the men again this year. A spokesman said the group would like males in the community again to take part in submitting nominations for Woman of the Year, to be announced at the 23rd annual presentation tea Oct. 15 at the Christian Fellowship Association.
