Sound Off for October 12, 2017
It’s called ‘regressive’
Replacing income tax with a sales tax boost hurts the elderly and poor, and candidates who support this have lost my vote.
Things we just can’t talk about
It’s sad a good educator’s career is derailed because of ugly spin on what was from all accounts a teachable moment. This “outrage” is likely to win somebody (and their lawyers) a lot of money.
Not quite ‘red’ enough?
If Puerto Rico were a state, the territory’s gross domestic product, about $103 billion, would rank it 37th, ahead of 13 Republican states. So much for your “bankrupt Democratic state.”
Deterrence factor a joke
It’s no surprise that crime committed by juveniles is on the rise as senior gang members know they will receive a slap on the wrist. Start charging them as adults and crime will fall.
Civility no doubt appreciated
Democrats and blacks throw the race card freely at us whites. I no longer talk to blacks except to say a civil hello. Don't want to say anything about which someone would take "offense."
