Fifty years ago today, October 11, 1967

Airport, Hospital

In one of the most active days Muscogee County Commission has ever seen, the five-member board agreed to create an airport authority and a hospital authority. The double-barrel approach toward authorities came just one week after the commission had voted to establish a ports authority.

4-H Winners

Four-H judging teams from Muscogee and Coweta counties this week took first place honors in the livestock judging of meat and dairy animals at the Chattahoochee Valley Fair.

Tourism

The city of Pine Mountain was listed among 10 semifinalists in the annual Stay and See Georgia First Contest. Five out-of-state travel editors will visit the cities between Oct. 15-22 to name five finalists, one in each category.
