Vietnam

A Gallup Poll released Sunday indicates the majority of Americans favor turning the Vietnam war over to the Vietnamese in stages or turning the entire problem over to the United Nations.

Turning the war over to the Vietnamese or to the UN won approval of the majority of both Democrats and Republicans polled.

Griffin Book

Former Gov. Marvin Griffin says he is going to “hang out all the wash” about his personal experiences with Georgia politics and politicians in a book he is writing.

The genial former governor, a weekly newspaper editor for more than 30 years and still an occasional columnist, said the book already is under way.

Wallace

Former Alabama Gov. George Wallace said Sunday he has been threatened by what he called “revolutionaries” and others “who do not love our country.”

He did not go into detail about the threats, but attributed them to “revolutionaries, activists and Communists – the same people who want us to lose the war in Vietnam.”
