Damaging Storm

Residents today surveyed the damage left behind after a squall line slipped in out of the west and slapped Columbus and Phenix City with menacing winds and drenching rains Friday night. Among the worst of the damage was a $16,000 airplane smashed at Columbus Municipal Airport.

Vietnam

North Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh is seriously ill and conducting the affairs of state from his sickbed, a Hungarian journalist recently in Hanoi said today in Laos. Istvan I. Szabo also said that Hanoi is virtually in ruins from U.S. bomb strikes, which lately have moved closer to the center of the city.
