Chief Accused
The chairman of a group calling itself “Concerned Citizens” has charged Columbus Police Chief Clyde Adair with being “incompetent” if he doesn’t know mixed drinks are being sold in Columbus.
And James Thomas also insinuated that there are “payoffs” in the sale of mixed drinks.
Grand Jury
Superior Court Judge John H. Land said today he has called a special session of the December term of the Muscogee County Grand Jury “to investigate charges of a police payoff” in the sale of mixed drinks in Columbus and allegations of “an incomplete investigation of the police department.”
New Apollo
Engineers who tried deliberately 41 times to set fire to an Apollo moon lander model said Wednesday the craft is “almost completely safe from fire.”
Space engineer Joseph Kotanchik said the tests were a direct outgrowth of the Apollo 1 fire which killed three astronauts last January.
