Police Probe

A special grand jury went into session today after Superior Court Judge John H. Land charged the group to direct its investigation primarily to the Columbus Police Department and the method by which the safety director and safety board control it. The judge specifically requested the grand jury to clear the air of suspicion generated by public statements and by newspaper editorials.

Vietnam

The biggest airlift of the Vietnam war pushed U.S. troop strength in South Vietnam to about 475,000 today, more than the peak of 472,800 American fighting men in the Korean war at its height 14 years ago.

Computers

An 1130 computer system touring the country in a van will be on display Thursday at the Columbus IBM office.
