Grand Jury
Two witnesses this morning came before a special grand jury as the jury opened its probe of the Columbus Police Department. The 23-man jury was called into session in the wake of charges of “irregularities” in the police department’s investigation of a burglary ring composed of policemen. There also have been charges that tavern owners paid protection to policemen to allow them to sell mixed drinks.
