Columbus Jaycees Friday awarded first place to Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Miller, 2401 Carson Drive, in their annual Christmas lighting contest. Their winning display was titled “Christmas With Winnie the Pooh.”

Draft Quota

Twenty-three Russell County men next month will be called up for the military draft as part of a doubled quota for the state of Alabama. The Alabama State Selective Service Friday announced that the January quota is almost double that of December. The national quota for January is 34,000 compared with 18,200 for December.

Religion

“The Universality of Jesus Christ” will emphasize the unity of men of all countries through Jesus Christ in a Christmas Day service at 10 a.m., at the Infantry Center Chapel at Fort Benning.
