Postal Rate Hike

The price of mailing a letter increases today by 20 percent.

Six cents of postage is now required, five years to the day after the five-cent postage stamp made its debut, replacing the four-cent rate.

Lunar Probe

Surveyor 7, the last of the Surveyor lunar probes, was launched from Cape Kennedy Sunday morning. It is scheduled to land on the Moon January 10.

The Final Frontier

A group of 500 Cal Tech students demonstrated at NBC studios in Burbank Saturday to get the network to renew the Star Trek television series for a third season.
