Rusk Meets With Viet Nam Leaders

Secretary of State Dean Rusk launched talks with South Viet Nam’s top leaders today, reportedly to assure them President Johnson’s peace efforts will not undercut the Saigon regime.

Supporters of Negro Rep.-elect Julian Bond, barred from the Georgia legislature because of his pacifist views on Viet Nam, scheduled another demonstration today at the State Capitol.

A bill requiring the purging of county voting rolls and official identification cards for all voters was introduced Thursday by Rep. Carl P. Savage of Montezuma.
