Patterson Stumps In Hometown

Former Alabama Gov. John Patterson Friday night promised a new bridge spanning the Chattahoochee in north Phenix City and Columbus. Patterson was speaking at a rally staged in Phenix City in his bid to win a second term in the governor’s office.

Braves Suit

Was the Milwaukee press hostile toward the Braves and a factor in the club’s decision to move to Atlanta? Baseball attorneys say yes. The sports editors of the city’s two newspapers say no. The suit is based on the Braves’ departure to the city where they will open the new season next month.
