Smiths Water

Phenix City’s water department is unable to pay an additional $26,000 for the installation of a water line to Smiths without being forced to chip in other funds, general manager Charles Doriety said Tuesday night.

Although the board entered into contract with the Smiths Water Authority to furnish water to that nearby community, no decision was made as to who would construct the supply line.
