Purple Hearts

Twenty-five combat veterans of Viet Nam were honored today at Fort Benning’s Martin Army Hospital in the largest mass presentation of the Purple Heart Medal since the start of the Southeast Asian war.

Wallaces in PC

Alabama Gov. George C. Wallace and his wife Lurleen vowed today in Phenix City to continue fighting for “local rights” if she is elected governor. Speaking to a crowd of supporters at the Russell County Court house, Wallace-who cannot succeed himself-said he would continue the same program as his wife’s “No. 1 assistant.”
