Jurors Urge Road Repairs

The Muscogee County Grand Jury has called for more funds for street and road improvements and maintenance in Columbus and Muscogee County. Additional funds are needed, said the grand jury, “to eliminate the thousands of ‘potholes’ that exist. . .”

No Senate Bid

Gov. Carl Sanders announced today that he has scuttled plans to run against U.S. Sen. Richard B. Russell this year and now will actively support the senator for re-election.

Dog Show

It’s that time of the year again when all Columbus goes to the dogs-literally. And some 498 pedigreed dogs of all sizes, shapes, colors and most breeds will be on hand at the Municipal Auditorium Sunday to greet visitors to the annual Spring Dog Show sponsored by the Columbus Kennel Club.
