Beer Firms Closed

Georgia Revenue Commissioner Hiram Undercofler today found two Columbus wholesale beer distributors guilty of selling non-tax-paid military draft beer to civilian retailers.

This will force West Georgia Beverage Company and Columbus Beer Company out of business.

‘Great Society’

Administration sources predicted today that President Johnson will withhold spending for some new “Great Society” programs if Congress refuses t make recommended cuts in old government programs.

Talks Stall

An estimated 600 area carpenters were idle today throughout greater Columbus after their contract with local builders expired at midnight Thursday.
