LBJ Gains In District
Slightly less than half the people in Georgia’s 3rd District now think President Johnson is doing a good job, a Ledger-Enquirer poll shows. In contract to the ’64 burial of the Democratic ticket, 47 percent of the district’s voters responding to a mail survey like the way Johnson is running the White House.
Child, pup safe
A wandering puppy Tuesday indirectly spurred city action on filling a five-foot-deep hole in the Caroline subdivision. Five-year-old Sandra Carlile daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Carlile, 790 Crockett Dr., chased her puppy across a drain pipe and fell into the water-filled hole. Fortunately, the water was not too deep, and she-and the puppy-were pulled out to safety.
Civil Rights
Ten civil rights demonstrators have been ordered held for grand jury action in connection with desecration of the U.S. and Georgia flags during racial demonstrations. All were placed in the Crisp County jail. The next scheduled meeting of the Crisp County grand jury is April 25.
