Muscogee County may be able to proceed within the “next few weeks” with condemnation of land for a service road which would prevent construction of a service station on the Columbus-Manchester Expressway, a State Highway Dept. official said today.

Third District voters think Georgia should consolidate some of its counties and school systems, and they’re in favor of repealing federal civil rights legislation.
A Ledger-Enquirer poll also brings to light strong sentiment for a two-party system at all levels in Georgia, and reveals that citizens vote for the man rather than the party.

The National Honor Society at Baker inducted new members March 31. There were 14 seniors and 20 juniors inducted.
