The zoning and subdivision codes of Columbus and Muscogee County are ineffective and must be updated. This, in effect, was the message contained in a staff report of the Columbus-Muscogee County Planning Commission.

Billy Mixon, former Muscogee County Republican chairman, said today he is considering a race for Congress if incumbent Howard (Bo) Callaway goes for governor.

Desegregation

The Russell County Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday against federal guidelines on pupil and faculty desegregation.
