A disproportionately high rate of medical defect claims has prompted a Selective Service investigation in Muscogee County, but has had no effect on the number of youths who pass or fail their preinduction physical examinations, an Army spokesman said Friday.
Fatal Wreck
Four persons died early today in a grinding car-truck wreck near here.
Killed were Spec. 4 Esaw Mitchell, 49, his wife, Mrs. Mary Bell Mitchell, 43, and their 10-year-old daughter, Lorene, all Negroes of Cusseta; and the truck driver, Troy D. Gentry, 50, Senatobia, Miss.

GOP state headquarters said Friday it had 35,000 “Callaway for Governor” petition signatures in hand, and expected to approach the 80,000 level today at Republic district conventions.
