Nurse Program
Columbus College has been authorized to proceed with preliminary planning for initiation of a two-year associate degree program in nursing, Dr. Harry Downs, director of Junior College Operations for the State Board of Regents, said today.
Education
A new state allocation of $2,578,695 in school construction funds will be used by the Muscogee County School District to launch another building program. The new priority list-to be drawn up this month-will probably include an elementary school in the Buena Vista Road area.
Alcohol Board
A grand jury proposal for the creation of an Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission (ABCC) crashed into a cold Columbus City Commission shoulder Monday. Commissioner Jesse Binns, in a brief but heated talk called the proposal “very illegal.”
