Georgia’s Selective Service director said Tuesday that an investigation into alleged large-scale attempts to avoid the draft in Muscogee County so far has turned up nothing out of the ordinary.

Foreign Aid

Defending the Johnson administration’s $917 million military aid program, McNamara said U.S. strength was greater than any nation had ever been-“but the United States cannot be everywhere at once doing everything the best.”

Education

A Jordan High School sophomore and member of the Girls Club of Columbus has won top honors in the Girls Club of America National Poster Contest. Becky McCullough, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. McCullough, 5866 Morningside Dr., won first prize in the national contest for her poster on the theme “Happiness is Friendship.”
